🌱 Settling In at Bluebells

Starting nursery is a big step — for both children and their grown-ups! That’s why we offer a gentle and flexible settling-in process to help your child feel safe, happy, and confident from the very beginning.

👋 Step 1: Welcome Visit

Around 8 weeks before your start date, we’ll invite you and your child to visit the nursery.

✅ Meet the team
✅ Explore the space together
✅ Complete any necessary paperwork
✅ Tell us all about your child – their routines, preferences, and personality!

🧸 Step 2: Settling-In Sessions

We’ll then book in a series of short settling-in sessions, tailored to your child’s needs.

🕘 Session times: 9:00–11:00am or 2:30–4:30pm
💷 Cost: Free of charge
📅 Number of sessions: As many as needed (subject to availability)

🚪 Step 3: Learning to Say Goodbye

We encourage all children to be dropped off at the door during settling-in.

This helps them learn that:

• You’re saying goodbye for now — but you will come back

• Nursery is a safe, happy place even when you’re not there

💡 Even short sessions (just 15 minutes at first) can make a big difference!

As your child grows in confidence, sessions will gradually be extended until they’re ready for their full nursery hours.
